From Pillars to Programming
These pillars helped inform the
Committee’s subject categories, aligning
昀氀agship programming with OGCA’s
education framework and ensuring
consistency across learning initiatives.
Our Objectives
The Education Committee has been
established to:
Identify priority education needs across
昀椀rm sizes and regions
Define and maintain the education
pillars and evolving topic list
Provide strategic input on OGCA
education initiatives
Support alignment with recognized
industry standards and certi昀椀cations
Encourage practical, experience based
learning
Legal, Financial & Industry Trends
Promote accessibility and inclusivity
across career stages
The committee will also seek opportunities to complement, not duplicate
existing programs delivered by OGCA, its
partners, and allied organizations.
Our vision is straightforward: to strengthen Ontario’s general
contracting community through education that is practical,
timely, and directly applicable.
How the Committee Will Work
The committee is composed of OGCA
members with diverse perspectives and
experience, working through OGCA’s
governance structure with staff to
translate member insight into action.
Education needs are not static, and the
committee will continually assess whether
offerings are keeping pace with industry
demands.
Next Stage: Building the SME Network
Looking ahead, the committee’s next
phase is to compile and maintain a
curated list of subject matter experts
aligned with the education pillars and
topics. This network will help OGCA
deliver timely, credible, and high impact
education in formats that respect the
realities of busy operations teams.
Success will be measured by whether
members see education that is practical,
timely, aligned with how work is delivered,
and worth their investment.
As Chair, I look forward to working with
committee members, OGCA leadership,
and the broader membership to ensure
education remains a meaningful and effective part of the association’s value proposition. Most importantly, we welcome
member input—the committee exists to
serve the industry, and its direction will be
strongest when informed by those building Ontario every day.
