demanding landmark projects.
"75 years is a major milestone for
Eastern," says Dean Walker, President and
CEO. " We are taking a moment to proudly
look back on the many people, partnerships, and projects that have shaped our
journey, while remaining focused on our
future. That balance, honouring the past
while pressing forward, is perhaps the
most accurate description of how Eastern
operates today.”
Eastern is proud to have built Roy
Thomson Hall, one of Canada’s premier
concert venues and an early testament to
the company’s ability to deliver culturally signi昀椀cant, architecturally complex
buildings. Eastern’s expertise in heritage
retention, revitalization, and sensitive
additions is further re昀氀ected in projects
such as the National Ballet School’s Grand
Jeté & Maitland Residences, as well as the
University of Toronto’s John H. Daniels
Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, &
Design. Together, these celebrated projects
demonstrate Eastern’s ability to connect
heritage buildings with bold new facilities,
seamlessly integrating the old and the new.

People First, Always
At just over 120 employees, Eastern
occupies what its leadership describes as
"the right size": large enough to deliver
complex, high-value projects, yet small
enough to maintain the close-knit culture
that defines it. As a 100% employee-owned
firm, it is accountable to its own people
rather than external shareholders, which
means culture and performance are never
in competition. Long tenures are common,
mentorship is a cornerstone, and the next
generation of leaders is already being
developed with the same intentionality
that has carried the company through 75
years.
